The MVP of the Out East app was to be launched in six months, from first discussions to first release. With this in mind, the team defined a limited scope of search, find, and contact features that would be the base that the app would be built upon in future versions.
When users first open the app, they get a simple search form to input their core criteria. Aspirational imagery establishes the brand at the top, and the search form is anchored to the bottom for ease of finger reach.
Users start seeing relevant listings right away in an infinite scroll of all results. From there, they can further refine their search, change the sort order, and tap into the listings they want to learn more about.
A photo carousel and a map view button sit at the top of the screen, followed by all of the information about the listing. On rental listings, the user can view pricing and availability for all periods. Once they're ready, the contact button is always anchored to the bottom of the screen.
An important part of home shopping is narrowing down your favorite listings and sharing them with others. On the Home Details Screen, these actions can always be found in the same place. The ability to save and share was added throughout the experience.
