Product Vision

If Out East is the go-to site for Hamptons real estate and beyond, Heading Out is the beyond — an informative, image-driven lifestyle hub that extends the Out East brand and helps users make the most of their time in the Hamptons.

A Compliment to the Core Brand

We knew we wanted Heading Out to be visual-first and highlight the beauty the Hamptons and the North Fork have to offer. Heading Out needed to be complimentary to, yet unique from the core Out East experience. I stripped back any illustrations, increased typographic contrast and white space, and relied on black and white outside of accent colors to create the Heading Out style guide.

Defining Clear Categories

While developing the content strategy, the team decided on four key categories which all of the posts would fall under. To help the user immediately distinguish the content types, I created an accent color shown on hover of elements and throughout the article pages within that category.
